What Asset Giant does

Asset Giant tells you what you own, where it is and who has it. Photograph a tool and it suggests the make, model and category for you to confirm, so a full inventory takes an afternoon rather than a fortnight. Print a QR label, stick it on, and anyone on the team can scan it with a phone to see the record, check the item out to a job and check it back in again.

On top of that sit the things that stop kit going missing or going out of ticket: a booking calendar so two jobs cannot claim the same item, alerts before a warranty, PAT test or inspection date passes, a warning when stock drops below the level you set, a nudge when something is due back, and quotes and invoices raised from the kit itself with hire rates and card payments. An assistant answers questions about your inventory in plain English.

Who uses Asset Giant

Asset Giant is used by construction firms and trades, media and events companies, equipment hire and rental businesses, and schools, sports clubs and community organisations. It is designed to be used standing up, on a site or in a van, on the phone already in someone’s pocket.

The company behind Asset Giant

Asset Giant is built and run by Blueworkz Ltd, a small UK company based in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, and founded by Dan Huke. He also founded the building firm Blue Ladder Building in 2021, which grew to around twenty people and five or six concurrent sites, and spent seventeen years running IT projects and product management in academic publishing before that. Asset Giant is specified and built by the person who needed it.

Your data belongs to you. Each company’s records are kept separately, and they are never sold.

Common questions

What is Asset Giant?

Asset Giant is a phone-first asset, tool and equipment tracking system for businesses that own kit and need to know where it is, made by Blueworkz Ltd in the United Kingdom. It catalogues tools, plant and equipment from a photo, prints QR labels for them, and lets a team scan items in and out on site with a phone camera. It runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install.

Who makes Asset Giant?

Asset Giant is made by Blueworkz Ltd, a small UK company based in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, founded by Dan Huke. Asset Giant launched publicly in summer 2026.

Is Asset Giant free?

Yes. Asset Giant has a free plan called Free Forever. It is a plan rather than a trial: no card is required, it does not expire, and it includes QR labels, phone scanning and AI photo cataloguing.

What can Asset Giant track?

Asset Giant tracks tools, plant and site equipment, cameras, lighting and flight cases, hire and rental fleets, IT and office equipment, and club, school and community kit. It is not limited to those: any physical item a business owns can be catalogued, labelled and tracked in the same way. Items can be grouped into folders, categories and kits, assigned to locations, projects and clients, and counted by quantity where you hold several of the same thing.

Does Asset Giant work on a phone?

Yes, and it is designed for the phone first. Asset Giant runs in the browser on iPhone (Safari), Android (Chrome and Samsung Internet) and any modern desktop browser. There is no app to download, and QR codes are scanned with the phone camera.

How does Asset Giant use AI?

Asset Giant can identify an item from a photograph and suggest its name, manufacturer, model, category and notes, which you confirm or change before saving. It also has an assistant that answers questions about your own inventory in plain English. AI never saves anything on its own.

Where is Asset Giant based, and what currency does it bill in?

Asset Giant is based in the United Kingdom and bills in pounds sterling, monthly or yearly, at one price per company rather than per user. Support is UK-based. You can cancel at any time. Each paid plan includes a team of several users; people beyond that allowance can be added one at a time as extra users on the same single bill.

How does Asset Giant compare with other asset tracking software?

Asset Giant publishes a dated, side-by-side comparison with AssetTiger, Asset Panda, Sortly, EZOfficeInventory and itemit, covering plan names, prices and limits as published by each company, together with a switching guide for each one.

Can I add extra users to a plan?

Yes. Every paid plan includes a set number of users, and extra users can be added one at a time from Settings → Team for £9 each a month (£85 a year). The new person can be invited immediately. Only the remainder of the current billing period is charged for at the time, the renewal date does not change, and the extra user is then part of the existing subscription — one invoice, one date, never a second charge. Removing an extra user takes effect at the next renewal.

What are the Free Forever plan's limits?

The Free Forever plan includes 100 assets, 1 team member, 50 MB of file storage and 1 custom field, plus 25 AI lookups and 25 AI assistant messages every month. Alerts are not included on this plan. There is no card to enter and no time limit — it stays free for as long as you use it. If you reach a limit, nothing is deleted — your work is kept exactly as it is, and upgrading gives you more room straight away. Activity history covers the last month, and you can export your assets at any time.
