Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 4, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Asset Giant (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies when you use our On-Site Asset Tracker platform (the “Service”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
The short version: we use the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you logged in and to remember a few of your interface preferences, and — only if you agree — optional cookies that help us understand how the site is used, credit whoever recommended us to you, and let us show you our own ads on other websites. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertising networks so they can advertise other companies’ products to you. You can accept or decline the optional cookies when you first visit, and change your mind at any time (see “Managing cookies” below).
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use related technologies built into your browser, such as local storage, to remember small preferences. In this policy we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies.”
2. The cookies we use
2a. Strictly necessary cookies — these are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off. They are set when you log in and do not store any marketing information.
- Secure login & session cookies: keep you securely signed in as you move between pages. Without these you cannot log in or use the application. They are set when you sign in and typically expire when you log out or after a period of inactivity.
- Cookie preference (
osat_cookie_consent): remembers your cookie choice — whether you accepted or declined optional analytics — so we don’t ask again on every visit and so we only load analytics if you agreed. Stored for up to 12 months.
2b. Functional / preference storage — first-party browser storage that remembers small interface choices. These are not required for the Service to function; if they are unavailable, the Service still works fully but may not remember these preferences between visits.
- Sidebar state (
osatSidebarState): remembers whether you collapsed or expanded the navigation sidebar. - Notice dismissal (
osat_limit_banner_dismissal): remembers that you dismissed the “approaching your plan limit” notice, so it isn’t shown on every page load.
2c. Analytics cookies (optional — only set if you agree) — these help us understand how visitors use the site (which pages are popular, where people get stuck) so we can improve it. They are not set unless you accept them on the cookie banner. If you decline, or have not yet made a choice, no analytics cookies are placed and no analytics scripts are loaded. We do not sell the data.
- Hotjar (Contentsquare): helps us see how the site is used through anonymised usage metrics and aggregated behaviour, so we can improve the layout and find usability problems. Set only after you accept. Governed by Contentsquare’s own privacy and cookie policies.
- Google Analytics (GA4): gives us aggregated statistics about visits and how people move through the site. Set only after you accept. Governed by Google’s own privacy and cookie policies.
2d. Referral cookies (optional — only set if you agree) — we run an affiliate and referral programme: people who recommend Asset Giant (for example a newsletter, a blogger or an existing customer) earn commission if someone they referred later subscribes. If you arrive through one of their links, these cookies record which referrer sent you, so they get the credit they are due. They store a short referral code and a click identifier — nothing about you personally, and they are never used to advertise to you or to build a profile of you.
The cookies are osat_aff (set by us, valid for up to 12 months) and sc_click_id (set by our payments provider SureCart, for the same purpose). Neither is set unless you accept cookies. If you decline, we do not store anything on your device for this purpose; if you happen to create an account during that same visit, we record the referral against your account on our own servers instead, so the person who recommended us is still credited. Declining has no effect on your use of the Service or on what you pay.
2e. Advertising cookies (optional — only set if you agree) — we advertise Asset Giant on Google. These cookies do two things: they tell us which of our ads led to someone signing up, so we can stop paying for the ones that don’t work; and they let us show our own ads to people who have already visited this site, on other websites and in Google search results. They are not set unless you accept them on the cookie banner, and if you decline, no advertising scripts are loaded at all.
- Google Ads: set only after you accept, and governed by Google’s own privacy and cookie policies. We give Google a signal that you visited — and, if you sign up, that you signed up — so it can measure our ads and include you in the group of people we can advertise to again. We never send Google your name, email address, or anything you have stored in the Service.
To be clear about the limits of this: it lets us advertise Asset Giant to people who have already shown an interest in Asset Giant. We do not sell or share your data with advertising networks so that other companies can advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of your interests or activity away from this site. Declining has no effect on your use of the Service or on what you pay.
3. Third-party services
A small number of features rely on third-party services. Where these set their own cookies or storage, that processing is governed by the relevant provider’s own policy.
- AI assistant: the in-app AI assistant may store your recent conversation in your browser’s local storage so the chat persists while you work. This stays on your device.
- Payments (SureCart and Stripe): when you start a subscription or manage billing, payments are handled by our payment provider, SureCart, which uses Stripe to process card payments securely. These providers may set their own cookies on their own checkout pages. We do not store your card details.
4. Analytics and advertising
We use the analytics services listed in section 2c, the referral cookies described in section 2d, and the advertising cookies described in section 2e, only with your consent — the first to measure and improve the Service, the second to credit whoever recommended us to you, and the third to measure our own advertising and to show our own ads to people who have already visited this site. None of them are loaded at all until you accept them on the cookie banner.
We do not use social-media trackers, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertising networks so that other companies can advertise their products to you. Where the law requires it, we tell Google whether you consented before any of its cookies are used for advertising; if you decline, your visit is not used for advertising at all.
5. Managing cookies and changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent to the optional cookies at any time by deleting the osat_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings (or by clearing this site’s cookies); the cookie banner will then reappear on your next visit so you can make a new choice. You can also control and delete cookies generally through your browser settings, and clear your browser’s local storage at any time.
Please note that if you block or delete the strictly necessary login cookies, you will be logged out and will not be able to use the application. Clearing functional storage will simply reset the related interface preferences described above. Declining the optional analytics, referral or advertising cookies does not affect how the application works, what you can do with it, or what you pay.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. We will revise the “Effective Date” above when we do.
